The Lost Blueprints

Client: Jewelry City Steampunk Festival

Date: 10/28/2017

Type: Immersive Game

DESCRIPTION
This game was created to incentivize exploration of participating venues at the first annual Jewelry City Steampunk Festival. Described to the public as “A Jewelry City Puzzle Adventure,” this free game tasked players with rebuilding the MCGUFIN time machine.

The MCGUFIN was designed by the brilliant but reclusive inventrix Eleanor Cleverly. Years ago, Ms. Cleverly disavowed her inventions when she saw how they were used to wage war. She destroyed her works, taking the cogs and machinery and turning them into beautiful jewelry.

Players were tasked with visiting the steampunk characters stationed at each festival venue and completing challenges to collect the pieces of the MCGUFIN schematics.

Families with children were the target audience for this game. Challenges included playful tasks, puzzle props, and mini-games. To make the game accessible for all ages, each character offered a choice between an easy and a difficult challenge, and actors were equipped with hints to offer when requested.
